MIS Asia — Malaysian IT solutions distributor ECS ICT has signed with Veeam Software (Veeam) to offer data centre availability solutions to approved Veeam Resellers, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, ECS Pericomp. ECS ICT chief executive officer Soong Jan Hsung said: “With the challenging environment, corporations will have to maintain an ‘always-on’ business, hence our partnership with Veeam is timely.”
KUALA Lumpur-based ECS ICT Bhd said it has been appointed Beijing-based Xiaomi Inc’s authorised distributor for the Mi Pad tablets in Malaysia. Xiaomi’s business model globally is to sell its products online via its web store. However, with the appointment of ECS’ wholly-owned subsidiary ECS Astar Sdn Bhd, local IT and mobile device resellers will now be able to sell Xiaomi’s Mi Pad tablets at their respective stores nationwide, ECS ICT said in a statement.
MALAYSIAN consumers looking for Microsoft’s Lumia smartphones can now also find them at ECS ICT Berhad. The Group’s wholly-owned subsidiary, ECS Astar Sdn Bhd, was appointed by Finland-based Nokia Sales International Oy, a subsidiary of Microsoft Mobile Oy, to distribute Microsoft Lumia smartphones for the Malaysian IT channel and consumer electronics chain stores nationwide. ECS Astar Sdn Bhd will distribute four models at present, namely the Lumia 930 (pic), Lumia 830, Lumia 735 and Lumia 535.
