Colt expands Asia coverage with more data feeds

JapanEnterprise Innovation — Colt has expanded its Asia coverage by adding three new data feeds to its low-latency MarketPrizm Market Data service. The three feeds are: Osaka Exchange Inc.’s (OSE) newest derivatives feed for the new J-GATE matching engine; additional content for the Nagoya Stock Exchange (NSE) and HKEx’s latest premium feeds, namely Securities Premium (‘SP’) and Derivatives Premium (‘DP’).

KVH changes company name to Colt

JapanDatacenter Dynamics — Asian cloud services company KVH Co Ltd (KVH) has changed its company name to Colt Technologies Services Co Ltd (Colt) with immediate effect. The move is not an unexpected one, ever since Colt Group S.A. acquired KVH late last year as part of its strategy to enter the APAC ICT services market, in a deal worth ¥18.6 billion (€130m, $150m).

1-Net connects data centers in Asia, from SG

SingaporeAs part of its strategy to interconnect data centers in Asia, 1-Net has boosted its data center connectivity network in Singapore with Epsilon and KVH. The collaboration allows 1-Net’s customers to connect 14 key data centers at either a 1G or 10G capacity to drive more business transactions across multiple data centers in Singapore. This also provides customers with more connectivity options and diversified routes between selected data centers. This interconnected data center network with Epsilon and KVH will allow customers to drive better business performance through a “Data Center Corridor”.

KVH supports AWS in Singapore

The new service is a private network that can create hybrid-architecture solutions that merge private infrastructure with AWS computing resources. Customers can access AWS Direct Connect in Singapore from Singapore but also from Hong Kong and Japan, through KVH etherXEN, KVH’s Ethernet service, or KVH DCNet, a network of over 75 connected data centers across Asia.

Colt Acquires KVH in Asia Pacific Expansion

U.K.-based Colt Group announced intent to acquire Japan’s KVH for €130.3 million (about $162 million). KVH expands Colt’s capabilities in key Asian markets and its ability to serve multi-national customers overall. The transaction is subject to shareholder approval. The two companies have complementary businesses with similar technology, platforms, business models, and product sets. Both KVH and Colt are owned by Fidelity Investments, which bailed Colt out in 2001 when the telecom bubble burst.
