SingaporeEnterprise Innovation — LinkedIn has opened its first data center in Singapore, spanning 23,500 square feet in Jurong. This isone of six data centers for LinkedIn globally, and the first outside the United States.  LinkedIn has invested S$80 million so far in the new data center, which was established to enhance the experience for the fast-growing base of LinkedIn members and clients across the Asia-Pacific region, including speed and reliability of access to LinkedIn’s services as they connect to professional opportunities on the network.

LinkedIn launches first India-made product for local use

IndiaTimes of India — BENGALURU: LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional networking website operator, launched LinkedIn Placements, a product developed in India, to boost its user base among students in the country. LinkedIn Placements, the first product to be developed by the company outside US and China, aims to make it easier for graduating students across India to find their first job and for placement officers and recruiters to manage campus placement initiatives.

China LinkedIn users top 10 million

ChinaWant China Times — The number of LinkedIn users in China has topped 10 million, a year and a half after the world’s largest professional network launched a Chinese version of its online services. Founded in 2003 in the United States, LinkedIn has more than 300 million users. LinkedIn Doubles User Base in China Amid Social Media Censorship

ChinaLinkedIn has increased its user base in China from four million to eight million, according to its earnings report released Thursday. This doubled size in user base proves that despite the government’s strict censorship, foreign social networking sites still stand a chance in China. The business-oriented social networking service officially entered China in February 2014 with the launch of Lingying, its Chinese language site. By then, it already had about fourmillion members in its English language site.

Former China HP VP Joins LinkedIn China

LinkedIn China recently announced that Yu Zhiwei, former vice president of China HP, has joined the company as marketing vice president. Yu will directly report to Shen Boyang, LinkedIn global vice president and China president. According to Shen, LinkedIn China’s executive team will continue to maintain its localization trend and its overall strength has been further enhanced. How LinkedIn has found a way to do business in China
