Networks Asia — Deutsche Telekom has launched a new public cloud platform that will provide European enterprises of all sizes with on-demand, pay-as-you-go, secure cloud services. Dubbed Open Telekom Cloud, the platform is an OpenStack-based Infrastructure-as-a-Service solution, powered by Huawei hardware and software and operated by T-Systems, the enterprise-focused subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom.
Telecom Asia — SK Telecom and Deutsche Telekom have forged a technology development partnership covering services, IoT and development of 5G standards. The partnership, announced Tuesday at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, aims to seek new growth opportunities in Asian and European markets. Under the partnership, SK Telecom and Deutsche Telekom will work together to develop standardized technologies including SDDC (Software-Defined Data Center) and 5G enabling technologies.
RCR Wireless — Deutsche Telekom said it recently deployed the world’s first field implementation of narrow band “Internet of Things.” The trial was carried out with the cooperation of Chinese vendor Huawei. The trial was developed over commercial base stations by software upgrades in order to make them NB-IoT capable.
