India’s Fastest Broadband Internet Service Providers

Content delivery network Akamai notes in its Q3 2015 State of the Internet report that India, at 2.5mbps, had the lowest average connection speed among ten Asia Pacific countries surveyed in the region. The global leader, South Korea, has an average connection speed of 20.5mbps.

Australia emerges as source for DDoS attacks

AustraliaAustralia has appeared in content delivery network provider Akamai’s top ten list of sources for denial of service attacks for the first time, as high-speed broadband connections become more commonplace. Akamai’s State of the Internet report saw Australia enter the top ten DDoS source list in the second quarter of this year with around four percent of attacks globally, putting it on par with larger countries such as Germany, Russia and Korea.

Asia continues to lead in Internet connection speeds: Akamai

Akamai unveils new security operations centre in Bangalore

Akamai ranks Vietnam’s Internet speed at 99th globally

VietnamWith an average Internet speed of 2.7 Mbps, Vietnam’s Internet speed was ranked 99th in the world in the final quarter of last year, according to a report of U.S. cloud computing services provider Akamai Technologies. The report on State of the Internet in quarter four of 2014 showed Vietnam’s average Internet connection speed in the fourth quarter of 2014 improved slightly from the previous quarter (2.5 Mbps). In Southeast Asia, Vietnam was ranked after Singapore, Thailand (45th) and Malaysia (75th) but above the Philippines (101st) and Indonesia (122nd).

Australia spared the worst of rise in web attacks: Akamai

Akamai: Vietnam’s Internet traffic second slowest in Asia-Pacific

Internet speeds, broadband adoption in Singapore on the rise: Akamai

SINGAPORE: The average Internet connection speed for Singapore during the first quarter of 2014 hit 8.4 megabits per second (Mbps), representing a 6.1 per cent jump month-on-month, according to the latest figures by Akamai Technologies. According to its State of the Internet report for the first quarter of 2014, which was released on Friday (June 27), Singapore was ranked fifth in the Asia-Pacific region based on its 8.4 Mbps average connection speed. It is behind South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong,and Taiwan, which were ranked first to fourth in that order, it added.
