China Unicom earmarks $2.2B for network upgrades in Shanghai

ChinaMobile World Live — China Unicom has committed to investing CNY14 billion ($2.2 billion) to upgrade its mobile networks and fibre infrastructure in Shanghai over the next five years. The operator, China’s second largest by number of subscribers, was the first to sign an “Internet +” cooperation agreement with the Shanghai municipal government, according to C114.net.
