Malaysia’s Internet Exchange lowers fees to help local ISPs reduce Internet charges

MalaysiaMIS Asia — Malaysia’s internet Exchange, MyIX, has reduced port charges effective 1 April 2016 for all Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Malaysia in a bid to lower Internet charges for consumers in the country. Also known as ‘Persatuan Pengendali Internet Malaysia’ – an initiative under the national regulator MCMC, MyIX chairman Chiew Kok Hin said this decision was made in line with MyIX’s goal to encourage greater usage of its node and to promote greater peering between local ISPs.
