GBI becomes member of LINX, from Middle East

UAEZawya — October 6, 2015, DUBAI: GBI, a global service provider that owns and operates a multilayer carrier neutral network connecting the world to the Middle East, has established a new partnership with the London Internet Exchange (LINX). GBI has joined the LINX community in London after signing a partnership agreement.

Baidu Invests In Israeli Content Recommendation Company Taboola

China.gifOnline content recommendation company Taboola has gained a strategic investment infusion from Chinese search engine company The two parties plan to introduce Taboola’s content recommendation services into the Chinese market. Taboola just completed its series E financing of USD117 million in February 2015. The new investment from Baidu further proves the industry’s confidence in Taboola and the content discovery market. The exact amount of Baidu’s commitment was not readily available, but media are reporting it as a “multimillion dollar deal”.

Ooredoo supports Nepal

NepalOoredoo companies have announced a series of initiatives to support relief work in earthquake hit Nepal. Its companies across the Middle East, North Africa and Southeast Asia have joined hands to help victims of this devastating natural disaster. Ooredoo Maldives offered calls to Nepal free of cost for all its customers over a three-day period. The company also lowered the cost of calls to Nepal in Qatar and Oman. Turkish cellphone producer said to partner with Hon Hai

TAIPEI–Telpa, a Turkish mobile phone supplier, is planning to work with Taiwan-based high-tech giant Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (鴻海) to roll out mobile phones and tablet computers in Turkey, according to Reuters. Cited in the report, Telpa Chief Executive Sebahattin Yaman said that while Hon Hai, also known as Foxconn, plans to invest in Turkey to produce cellphones and tablets, the Taiwanese firm is also considering moving production of other gadgets to the country.
